Naama Arad

Artists and Work Procceses

Born in 1985, Naama Arad is a sculptor and installation artist who lives and works in Tel Aviv.
In 2010, she graduated with a B.F.A. from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, and, in 2014, gained an M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).
In her works Naama explores a variety of subjects, including history, architecture, gender, psychology and language. By dismantling and rebuilding various power structures, she seeks to challenge the accepted, the institutionalized and the authoritative norms.
Naama has been displaying her works in solo and group exhibitions in a variety of national and international venues, including the Midrasha Gallery of Art in Tel Aviv, Sommer Contemporary Art Gallery and Tel Aviv Museum.

2015-2016 – Artport TLV 12 months residency, the Ted Arison Family Foundation, Israel.
2015 – Ingeborg Bachmann Scholarship Established by Anselm Kiefer, Wolf Foundation, Israel.
2013 – Jacques and Natasha Gelman Trust Scholar and Fellow Program, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, USA.
2010 – Eileen Cooper Award, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Israel.
