Meir Wieseltier

Poetry

One of Israel’s greatest poets, recipient of the 1999 Israel Prize for literature and poetry, the Bialik Prize for literature, and the Prime Minister's Prize for Hebrew Literature. Wieseltier has coined a new language of poetry using spoken usage and slang that has influenced many poets in Israel.
